Objectives:

Monitor your business trends to foresee patterns that might indicate an issue
Anticipate peaks in customer support activity
Validate the size of the sample used in the calculation of another KPI
Make sure operations are running as expected especially during peak periods

How to use/understand it:

It's important to use "Added to Shipup" for time reference as it usually matches the "label creation date".

The label creation date is one of the best way to categorize packages to understand if something went wrong with your operation. Packages from the same carrier labeled on the same day should be in the same truck to the carrier distribution hub.

Monitor activity: In the first carousel image, we can see that the switch from Colissimo (48-hour delivery) to TNT France (24-hour delivery) before Christmas was carried out correctly.

In the example of the second carousel photo, a quick glance might lead you to believe that you had a major problem with Colissimo 2 days before Christmas.

However, the calculation was made with only 4 packages. This peak is therefore irrelevant (see third carousel image).

Tips and advice:

To see major trends or compare periods, use the date filter.

If you have a significant number of orders that have been shipped on December 24 but ordered well in advance of the holiday, you could decide to compensate them in some way. For example, you could send an email proactively to those customers to offer free express delivery for their next purchase.

To get the list of impacted parcels, you can get a report here and make sure to include:

shipping date
order date
delivery date
any other columns you may require!

From Excel, you can filter by impacted customers or upload the file to your CRM to send a mass email.
