Here are the specifics of the Promise:

Package shipping date + X days
Format: date
The promise is the expected delivery time. It is configured in the general settings (tab Settings > Expected delivery date).
It can be configured by service, by carrier, and can be deactivated if required (by service, by carrier).

Here are the rules we follow to keep your Estimated Delivery Date accurate:

Out for Delivery Today:
- If we receive an out_for_delivery or out_for_delivery_to_pickup_point event, the EDD is updated to today.
Delivery Attempted but Not Successful:
- If delivery does not happen on the day of the out_for_delivery event, or if we receive a failed_attempt, the EDD is updated to today + 1 business day.
Continuous Monitoring:
- If the next business day passes and we do not receive another out_for_delivery event, we add another business day to the EDD. This continues until we match rule 2.
Stop Updating:
- We stop updating the EDD when:
  - It has been more than 5 days since the last out_for_delivery event.
  - The package is marked as returned or delivered.
  - We are no longer fetching events.
- In these cases, we display the latest calculated EDD according to these rules or the preferred expected delivery date set by the company if we have never received an "out-for-delivery" event.
